1. The treaty was signed over 175 year ago 

2. Captain Cook arrived in Aotearoa 1769

3.The New Zealand war began in 1835

4.The New Zealand war ended in 1872

5. Waitangi day becomes a national day of commemoration in 1960 

6.Waitangi day becomes a national holiday in 1972

7.For over 500 years Maori had Aotearoa to themselves 

8.In the 1760s Pākehā cames to hunt seals and whales

9.In 1830 700 Pākehā were living in New Zealand

10.In 1831 13 chiefs wrote to the king of England asking for his protection
